Hello!  I am fine artist Rex Russell.  Thanks for the privilege of your visit to my website! I have been involved in the visual art scene for about fifty years.  Hundreds of thousands of my fellow painters issue informative and, at times, profound artist's statements wherein they wax poetically about the aesthetics and philosophies driving their artistic aims and development.  Artist's statements are at times poignant and stirring.

Yet, years ago I opted to simplify my public explanation of drive and intent.  I paint because it makes me happy.  There it is!  It makes me happy!  And if, along the way, one of my works makes you happy too, then all the better!  My wife, partner, love, best friend, and most ardent supporter - Mindy - and I endeavor to travel this country's panoramic vistas, miles of circuitous shores, and scores of intimate venues (including our own back yard at times!) to find inspiration driving me to put brush to canvas.....and...yes...smile!
